Meghan Markle and Prince Harry found themselves at the center of controversy as they faced criticism for their recent visit to Jamaica amidst a significant health crisis within the royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were labeled ‘insensitive’ for attending the premiere of the film Bob Marley: One Love, coinciding with the serious health issues faced by King Charles and Princess Kate.

Denise Welch, the renowned English actress, stepped forward to offer words of support for the couple based in California, asserting that the media was relentlessly attempting to “demonize” them.

Taking to platform X, formerly known as Twitter, the Loose Women star expressed her viewpoint, stating, “The idea that one would cancel all engagements just because a parent is scheduled for a procedure but not yet in the hospital and otherwise doing fine is utterly preposterous!”

Welch went on to criticize the media’s portrayal of Harry and Meghan, denouncing it as “bullying on an industrial scale.” Notably, this incident marked the first public appearance of the couple in 2024, following the news of the Monarch’s enlarged prostate treatment and Kate’s abdominal surgery.

In widely circulated photos and videos from the event, the couple from Montecito was observed projecting themselves as a formidable ‘power couple.’

Analyzing their body language, expert Judi James, speaking to the mirror, remarked, “Their notably tactile behavior seemed to underscore the continuation of their professional status as a power couple, as significant as their private status as a loving couple.”

The controversy surrounding their presence at the event amid ongoing health concerns within the royal family only intensified the scrutiny of the couple’s public engagements.
