Prince Harry(Sky News)

Prince Harry has received a stern warning to maintain distance from German Prince Mario-Max Schaumburg-Lippe, whose viral selfie with him at the Aviation Awards has stirred controversy.

For those unfamiliar, Prince Mario-Max has asserted his distant connection to the British royal family. However, the head of his family, Prince Alexander of Schaumburg-Lippe, has strongly criticized him for exploiting their name for personal gain.

Expressing his dismay to the Daily Mail, Prince Alexander remarked, “It’s very painful for me; this guy has been harvesting our name for his gain.” He further emphasized that Prince Harry should avoid associating with him, stating, “Prince Harry cannot stoop lower than appearing with him. I would advise him to stay away from this man.”

On January 20, Prince Mario-Max took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared a selfie with the Duke of Sussex, celebrating Prince Harry’s recognition with the Living Legends of Aviation Award at the prestigious award ceremony. The accolade was conferred to acknowledge the former working royal’s outstanding achievements as a pilot over his ten years of military service.

The controversy surrounding Prince Mario-Max’s claim of royal connection and the subsequent caution from Prince Alexander underscores the sensitivity of associations and the potential implications for Prince Harry, particularly given his induction into the Living Legends of Aviation Hall of Fame at the 21st annual Aviation Awards.
